Step 1: Open the NC10 Chassis

While the Samsung NC10 has a simple hatch for accessing its one RAM slot, its hard drive remains buried underneath the entire back panel of the system. Fortunately, you can get to it without doing any permanent damage to the chassis.

To open the back panel:

• Turn the NC10 face down.
• Remove the battery.
• Remove all of the screws in the back panel. Yes, that's a lot of screws. Be careful not to lose any of them.
  
  
  
  
• Pry open the chassis bottom. Gently pry each corner open. The area near the hinges requries the most finesse. You may need to use some force here and could encounter some frustration, but be as gentle as you can. Pull too hard and you risk cracking the plastic.
  
  You may want to use a mini flat head screw driver to help pry open different corners of the panel. The area around the battery port is particularly stubborn.
