5 Ways to Make the HTC One a Hit and Smack Samsung

  • MORE

HTC's CEO knows his company has a problem. It's not that the smartphone pioneer doesn't know how to make good devices—the HTC One X and One S were two of the best phones of 2012. It's that the company has been outgunned on both the innovation and (especially) the marketing front by you-know-who. While Samsung has become the epitome of anti-Apple cool, it's not clear what HTC stands for. After watching the unveiling of the HTC One this week, I'd say this perennial underdog has a chance to steal some much needed share away from its bigger rival. But to truly execute, HTC will need to follow my five tips.

And 1st commenter Joseph...His phrase is totally correct. The Nokia n900 may have had an infrared port, but it wasn't able to double as a tv remote out of the box or without the help of a third party app...I believe the one used on n900 was irreco and pierogi.

I totally agree on every point, very good prospective. In my honest opinion they should pay you and usr this buisness model.. LOL..matter of fact I'm about to write HTC about it now! I love HTC. I've been along side then since the touchpro..had the tp2, hero, EVO 4g, EVO 3d, EVO 4g LTE...n soon to be the ONE. It kills me to see there failure and the success of no where near as quality products because of stupid marketing to people who are brainwashed into believing a certain brand is best because of huge marketing of gimmicky features.. cough cough Samsung/Apple....

    >The HTC One is the first smartphone ever that can double as a TV remote out of the box without a third-party

Not so; the Nokia N900 had an infrared port.
