Nokia's new N-Series Devices Coming Stateside

We recently had hands on time with Nokia’s brand new N96 (announced earlier this year), N85, and N79 unlocked handsets. But here’s the big news. All three phones will be available in the fourth quarter of this year, and although pricing hasn’t been announced, we’ll be able to get them in North American Nokia flagship stores or online. The N85 and N96 are awfully similar in terms of features, but at closer inspection, we noticed that the N85 has a beautifully bright OLED display and is a good deal smaller. The N96 has a kickstand that pulls out from around the camera lens for resting on your desktop to watch movies, and a larger 2.8-inch display as opposed to the N85’s 2.6-inch one. The N79 comes with three different back covers. Nokia thinks the N96 will be widely accepted by the phone enthusiast crowd while the N85 will be more appreciated by the hipper crowd that wants a smaller device with style for work and play while maintaining a similar feature set. We can’t help but agree. The devices all run Symbian S60 v. 3.2, all feature a 5MP camera with dual LED flash, support Nokia’s NGAGE gaming platform, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, offer AGPS, and have 3G data connectivity in the US.
