Fujifilm's stylish Finepix A610 makes a good first impression. Luckily, its pictures are decent, too. Designed for digital-photography novices, the Finepix A610 walks users through 14 scene modes with useful descriptions and clear icons. Equipped with a 2.5-inch LCD, a responsive 3X optical zoom, and a set of manual controls (including white balance, ISO, and exposure), the Finepix A610 gives users the control they want with the simplicity that beginners will understand. On our tests, photos looked sharp but oversaturated. Both the image of our colleague and the shot of the vase were a little dark for our tastes. Fortunately, the quality improved when we shot outside. The Finepix A610 fires up quickly but took a lengthy five seconds between shots. QVGA videos are recorded at 30 fps, and they looked better than those captured by the other models. Check out our photo-quality comparison gallery to see how this camera’s images compare to other affordable cameras.
