The average mid-range laptop typically offers 512GB of SSD storage, but that's not enough for many people. Even if you only save photos, videos, and the occasional file, 512GB can quickly disappear. If you need to download any games, expect it to disappear much faster.

While I've started seeing more laptops featuring 1TB of SSD storage without greatly increasing the price, they're not as common as 512GB SSD options. Laptops with 2TB or 4TB of storage are typically gaming laptops that have more powerful (and much more expensive) components inside, which not everyone needs.

So what's a person with storage needs to do? If your laptop's SSD isn't soldered on, you can buy a larger SSD and swap it out for much less than it'd cost to upgrade your entire laptop.

Since our original story was published on Monday, Samsung's 990 EVO Plus 4TB SSD has dropped by a further $10 to $239 at Amazon. New Egg and B&H have also marked down this beast of an SSD to $239, too.

SSD was just released a few months ago, and Samsung says the 4TB SSD's "Sequential read speeds come up to 7250 megabytes-per-second (MB/s) and write speeds up to 6300MB/s," up to 50% better than its predecessor.

For those who frequently transfer large files or play games, an SSD with speedy read/write speeds will make a huge difference. You can expect faster loading times and smoother transitions between scenes in games.

You can get the updated Shearwater Perdix 2 Ti for $1,140. Or you can opt for the more wallet-friendly Peregrine, which is on sale for $550 for Cyber Monday.

While you can take other Apple Watches in the water, only the Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra 2 can take advantage of the Oceanic+ App to work as dive computers.

I reviewed the Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 9 back in the summer, and I loved it, but I felt it was a bit pricey for an RTX 4070 gaming laptop. That's not the case anymore, thanks to Cyber Monday.

In my Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 9 review, I scored it 4 out of 5 stars and awarded it an Editor's Choice badge. If it was sold at the same price it is now, then I would've given it 4.5 stars. From its gorgeous display and epic performance to its silky touchpad and cool thermals, the Legion 7i is a champ. The only missteps are its mediocre audio and short battery life.

The Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 9 is an excellent gaming laptop, and at this price, it's made all the sweeter. An RTX 4070 gaming laptop at $2K is too expensive. But at $1,499? Just right. This is easily one of the best Cyber Monday gaming laptop deals, so don't wait.

Best Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 9 deal on Cyber Monday

This is the cheapest RTX 4050 gaming laptop you'll find on Cyber Monday

If you're looking for the absolute bare-minimum gaming laptop to play with your friends, then the Acer Nitro V is the one for you. It's not perfect, but its Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU will get you through most games at 1080p, low settings.

You can get the Acer Nitro V for $599 at Walmart. It comes with an Intel Core i5-13420H processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a 15.6-inch, 1920 x 1080, 144Hz display. No, the specs aren't amazing, but it's super cheap, and it'll get the job done.

We did review the Acer Nitro V 15 and weren't exactly impressed with it. It had decent battery life and solid overall performance, but the price-to-performance ratio and poor display really killed it for us. However, this particular deal fixes one of those major issues. The model we reviewed was $1,049, and this $599 takes it down to a much more reasonable price.

Again, if you're looking for a gaming laptop that'll take you through your favorite titles even on the barest of settings, then the Acer Nitro V is a good choice.

Best Acer Nitro V deal on Cyber Monday

Overview: You truly won't find a cheaper RTX 4050 gaming laptop than the Acer Nitro V, at least for not very long, so you'll want to jump on this deal as quick as you can.

You're not going to find a cheaper, more efficient business laptop than an HP EliteBook for $395 on Cyber Monday. It's not as powerful as a premium device, but the security features alone are worth buying it for.

You can snag the HP EliteBook 845 G10 for just $395 at HP. It offers an AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 7540U processor, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a 14-inch, 1920 x 1200 display which is rated for 250 nits of brightness.

We haven't reviewed the HP EliteBook 845 G10, but I've always been a fan of the EliteBook series because of their quality build, excellent keyboard and reliable performance. Our sister sites also haven't reviewed this model, but I didn't find a Notebookcheck review that praised it for its long battery life and quiet fans.

Despite the lack of reviews, getting an HP EliteBook for under $1K is a steal let alone getting one for $395. The specs are on the lower end, but security features like HP Wolf Security software, fingerprint reader, firmware attack recovery and more, make this EliteBook one of the best Cyber Monday laptop deals I've seen for a business laptop so far.

Cyber Monday deals are in full swing, and I'm thrilled to see one of my most anticipated deals of the last few months still available. For a limited time, you can save big on Valve's Steam Deck as the storefront kickstarts its Steam Autumn sales.

I'm itching to join the handheld gaming PC revolution, and the Steam Deck has been on my wishlist for a long time. I have a gaming laptop, but I just want something better, and I think handheld gaming PCs are the way forward.

However, maybe I'm just terrible with money because my wishes and my wallet never quite seem to align when there's an undeniable moment to dive in with both feet on Valve's handheld gaming PC.

One of the most attention-grabbing Cyber Monday MacBook deals is the MacBook Air M1, dropping to just $599 at Walmart. MacBooks are great, but often painfully expensive, so seeing a new MacBook for under $600 will get you to sit up and take notice, but if you want the best value, it isn't the MacBook you should buy for Cyber Monday.

The MacBook Air M1 celebrated its fourth birthday last month, encroaching on geriatric in laptop years. Still, it's less about the MacBook Air M1 and more about what's happened to the rest of the MacBook Air lineup that should drive you to look elsewhere when considering a new MacBook during Black Friday.

One big factor is Apple's move to 16GB of RAM as the base option on the current M2 and M3 MacBook Air. This was previously a $200 upgrade that I recommended for the Air, and it's not available as part of the M1 Air deal, while the M2 Air for $799 at Amazon and the M3 Air for $844 at Amazon both include 16GB of RAM.

This, in addition to the upgraded M2 and M3 chips, which are roughly 25% and 40% faster than the M1, respectively, will allow you to use either laptop happily for likely 3-5 more years than the M1. So, if you view your laptop purchase as a cost per year of ownership rather than the purchase price alone, you're getting a better experience today and a better value over time on either the M2 or M3 Air.

Now, if you are looking at the Air M1 as a secondary laptop like a Chromebook that is purely going to be used for web browsing, go right ahead, but if this is your primary laptop and a long-term investment for you, either the M2 or M3 Air is the better choice. This is the best time of year to buy a new MacBook, and if you see a deal that catches your eye, don't wait too long before snatching it up for fear of it selling out completely.

I've assembled this handy guide to help you max out your savings with the best deals from across the web on MacBooks as well as Mac accessories, like chargers, portable hard drives, mice, protective cases, and more — all of which make great holiday gifts.

My favorite deal for students right now is the M1 MacBook Air 13 for just $699 at Walmart. For most people, however, I'd recommend the M3 MacBook Air 15 slashed to $899 at Best Buy because you'll get powerful M3 performance at last-gen prices.

If you plan to play games on your MacBook, I'd opt for a Pro model. Apple's new M4 MacBook Pro just started shipping on November 8, but we're already finding some great deals on it. For example, you can save $200 on the base M4 MacBook Pro at Amazon, dropping it to $1,399.

Or, if you only play less graphically demanding indie titles, you can likely get away with an M3 MacBook Pro for just $1,499 at Best Buy. In our M3 MacBook Pro 14 review, we deemed it to have "solid gaming performance."

While the deepest discounts are on the oldest models, I don't recommend that you buy an M1 MacBook in 2024 unless you're on a very tight budget and specifically need an Apple laptop (i.e. students with less than $1,000 to spend who need Apple-specific software like Final Cut Pro).
The M2 chip from 2022 is powerful enough for many users, but if you are going to hang on to your laptop for 5-10 years, then you should consider opting for an M3 or forthcoming M4 MacBook.
MacBooks are not upgradeable, so make sure to buy sufficient RAM and storage. In general, we recommend at least 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Remember, spending a little extra now on good specs will save you trouble later and increase the trade-in value of your MacBook when you're ready to upgrade.
Apple moved to 16GB of RAM as the base configuration for all MacBooks in October 2024 without increasing the pricing. This means you want to be wary of retailers clearing out old 8GB stock; we're only directing you to models with at least 16GB of RAM as they represent the best value. (Exception for the M1 MacBook Air M1 deal at Walmart.)
