The Verdict: An automatic virus detection and removal software with the added bonus of a dashboard widget.
Norton AntiVirus Dual Protection for Mac gives Boot Camp users complete protection from both Mac OS- and Windows-based vulnerabilities. The included Norton AntiVirus 11 for Mac automatically detects and removes viruses in addition to scanning and cleaning downloaded files and e-mail attachments. Compared with the PC interface, the Mac version was more attractive and user-friendly with its two Scanning and Automatic Protection tabs. Starting a scan is simple, and you can also create custom scans. Without any prior configuration, the software automatically scanned the files on a USB key when we plugged it in. While both the Mac and Windows versions include Norton’s LiveUpdate features, Mac gets special privilege to the Norton AntiVirus dashboard widget, which provides updated reports of the worst Mac threats.
