Why carry a phone and a budget MP3 player when you can have one device that does both, and for the price of an iPod shuffle? We called on the four major carriers—AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless—in search of the best music phones for less than $50. All offered solid call quality and music-listening experiences, but some perked our ears more than others.
