Palm finally released its software developer's kit a month ago, so it'll be a little longer before we start seeing a wider range of apps for the Palm Pre. But the Palm Pre app catalogue isn't totally devoid of application goodness.

Today Palm announced that its Mojo software development kit is available for all developers from the Palm webOSdev Web site. Any developer with an e-mail address can download the SDK and get to work writing code for the Palm Pre's operating system.

It's no secret, the Palm Pre chugs battery like an SUV burns fuel. During our own tests, we noticed that it could barely make it through the workday and other users are reporting about 8 hours of up time even without heavy usage.

Wooowee the Palm Pre is hot and its browser is just as smoking. We've started to put the Palm Pre head to head (to head) against the iPhone 3Gand the T-Mobile G1 to see how its browsing speeds stack up.

After first seeing the Palm Pre at CES, we were convinced that we would hear an update at CTIA. But alas, Palm and Sprint were both quiet on the Pre front.
