The process of scanning and updating drivers is quick, and the software is easy to navigate. You can scan, backup and update in minutes. Advanced Driver Updater allows you to exclude drivers from scans. It also lets you choose which drivers you want to install and where. For instance, you can download them to a disc or an external drive.

When you perform a scan, you can see the version number, name and date for the driver. You can also restore older versions of drivers if you want. Another convenient feature is the scheduler. You can set up this driver update software so that it performs a scan daily or weekly. You can perform scans on an as-needed basis.

We are impressed with how many outdated drivers this software detected. We tested this driver update software on a Windows 7 32-bit operating system that had Intel drivers dating back to 2006. We compared our system drivers with those from Intel, Windows and Nvidia. We also compared them with the most up-to-date drivers from the original manufacturers.

Our machine has 65 devices, and we determined we would need 21 driver updates. When we ran the software on our machine, it reported that 18 drivers needed to be updated. In other words, it found 86 percent of the drivers that needed updating. It missed several Intel drivers - the same ones that other driver update software we tested missed as well. The scan we performed found outdated Nvidia, Dell, Intel and Broadcom devices.

This driver update software focuses mostly on system drivers, but it does work with some peripheral drivers, such as those for monitors. Advanced Driver Updater has more than 15 million driver files, making up about 500,000 drivers. These drivers are compatible with Windows 7 (both the 32- and 64-bit versions), Vista and XP. This software also has some drivers for Windows servers and enterprise editions.

Advanced Driver Updater obtains drivers from the original manufacturer. It verifies that they aren't corrupt and don't contain malware. Then it stores them on a secured server. Occasionally, this driver update software offers third-party downloads combined in bundles. If you don't want these downloads, it's easy to opt out.

When the software scans your system, it uploads the information as an XML file. The only information the XML file contains is the state of the license, the driver details and information about the operating system.

Your payment choices are flexible with Advanced Driver Updater. If you want to pay online, it goes through cleverbridge AG. You can also choose to pay by phone, mail or fax. All these features are important for keeping your data and your computer safe, since the updates are automatic.

We were impressed with Systweak's customer service. It has chat, telephone and email support. Systweak responded to our email on the same day, which is something that many of the other manufacturers we contacted did not do. The toll-free telephone number for this manufacturer is easy to find on the website. Additionally, the telephone support is around the clock. The software has help options that are in the application, along with help options on the website, such as a knowledgebase for general questions, a newsletter and blog. You can also receive free updates for the same version of the drivers you use, such as an updates from version 3.0 to 3.2.

Advanced Driver Updater has a large library of driver files. This driver update service gives you customizable options that allow you to not scan some drivers and to determine where you download files. The scheduler helps you keep track of your PC's health so you can concentrate on other things.

The scans this software performs are thorough and quick. Advanced Driver Updater checks files for corruption and malware. It keeps your PC safe while it's updating files as well. Systweak's tech support is comprehensive, and is one of the aspects of the company with which we were most impressed. This service is a perfect blend of performance and support.
