Those relentless pop-up ads can slow you down by hogging bandwidth. Luckily, thanks to a Greasemonkey add-on for Firefox, you can get rid of the ads in Hotmail altogether, including those to the right of your inbox and the ones that pop up after you send an e-mail.
- You'll need the latest version of Firefox.
- Visit addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748 and install the Greasemonkey add-on, then restart your browser. A smiling monkey should appear in the lower right corner of the browser.
- Navigate to userscripts.org/scripts/show/8228 and install Windows Live Ad Remover by clicking the Install button in the upper right corner of the page.
- Once you click the Install button in the following pop-up window, the add-on will integrate with Firefox automatically, eliminating ads.
