Eviscerate Annoying Banner Ads in Windows Live Hotmail

Lose those bandwidth hogging pop-up ads.

Those relentless pop-up ads can slow you down by hogging bandwidth. Luckily, thanks to a Greasemonkey add-on for Firefox, you can get rid of the ads in Hotmail altogether, including those to the right of your inbox and the ones that pop up after you send an e-mail.

  1. You'll need the latest version of Firefox.
  2. Visit addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748 and install the Greasemonkey add-on, then restart your browser. A smiling monkey should appear in the lower right corner of the browser.
  3. Navigate to userscripts.org/scripts/show/8228 and install Windows Live Ad Remover by clicking the Install button in the upper right corner of the page.
  4. Once you click the Install button in the following pop-up window, the add-on will integrate with Firefox automatically, eliminating ads.
