Shimon Systems, a leading provider of fingerprint-based access control, has revolutionized security for corporate Wi-Fi networks with Bio-NetGuard, a new solution that uses biometric fingerprint verification to enable users to hop on board a Wi-Fi network.
The plug-and-play unit connects to either a Wi-Fi access point or a LAN router and is compatible with 802.11a/b/g as well as 802.11i, the next-generation Wi-Fi standard. Each Bio-NetGuard box is capable of securing multiple Wi-Fi access points connected to the same router, allowing authenticated users to freely roam between access points (even points from different vendors) without needing to re-authenticate.
Bio-NetGuard is compatible with Windows 2000, XP, and Vista operating systems and will work with routers from D-Link, Cisco, Bountiful, and Netgear.
