Today Olympus updated its EVOLT digital SLR line with the release of the E-410 and E-510, and also added the 780 to its slim Stylus line.

The portable and rugged EVOLT series, designed for photo enthusiasts and serious photographers alike, retains the convenient features of previous models but receives some key enhancements. Olympus' TruePic image-processing technology gets a boost: Now called TruePic III, the image processor offers crisp, grainless photos and will lower image noise by one step in photos shot at higher ISO settings -- allowing for excellent quality in low-light environments. The E-410 and E-510 also feature 2.5-inch Live View LCDs, which offer 176-degree viewing angles for capturing shots from tricky angles.

Available in one-lens or two-lens outfits, the EVOLT E-410 and E-510 -- each with ten megapixels -- can be armed with either a Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm f3.5-f5.6 Lens (equivalent to 28-84mm in 35mm photography) or a Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f4.0-5.6 (80-300mm equivalent) for potent long-range telephoto shots.

For those who want digital SLR-quality photos from a pocket-sized camera, the Stylus 780's 7.1 megapixels, new shadow-adjustment technology, TruePic III, and large 2.5-inch HyperCrystal LCD -- all packed into a sleek, ultraportable body -- won't disappoint.

Olympus EVOLT E-410 Price: $699
Olympus EVOLT E-510 Price: $799
Olympus Stylus 780 Price: $349.99
