Devices-to-Die-intro_shWe recently interviewed New York City tourist Bijan Rezvani, who dropped his iPhone on the subway tracks and, despite the risk of getting hit by an oncoming train or electrocuted by the third rail, jumped down to save it.

Jumping onto the New York City subway tracks to rescue a gadget is dangerous and illegal, but certainly not unheard of. Despite the obvious hazards and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s safety policy we even found a few people in our office who told us they had risked it all rather than ask a station agent to retrieve their fallen gadgets.

This begs the question: What gadgets are worth the leap? Here at LAPTOP, we’ve taken a tongue-in-cheek look at some of today’s hottest hardware and assessed its risk-worthiness. No device is worth your life, but we’ve found 10 that made us think twice.
